Associate Veterinarian

Career Opportunities

Forward Equine Veterinary Services, LLC, is seeking a third veterinarian to add to our performance horse practice in central and southern Wisconsin and northeastern Illinois.

Forward Equine was established in 2016 as an ambulatory sports medicine and rehabilitation ambulatory practice. We have continued a steady trajectory, growing our client base and adding services and now serve as a secondary-level practice to the area. Our plans also include establishing a facility to provide in-patient rehabilitation and allow haul-in evaluations. We operate over a large area through eastern Wisconsin and northern Illinois with a central office located in Oshkosh, WI. Our practice focuses on delivering gold-standard sports medicine care and functioning as a valued member of each horse’s care team. We stay progressive by actively pursuing continuing education, advanced training, and current developments in available technology. Our practice is also focused on employee satisfaction at every level, as reflected by our flexible schedules and benefit packages. Our support staff consists of a 1:1 ratio of veterinary assistants to veterinarians as well as a full-time administrative assistant and an office manager. Full-time employment at every level of the practice consists of 36-40 hours across 4 days each week.

A strong interest in sports medicine is required for this position. Our ideal candidate has at minimum completed an internship and certification in veterinary spinal manipulative therapy and/or acupuncture would be a bonus. However, while a more experienced candidate is preferred, we are looking for a veterinarian who is excited to join our practice and for whom we are a good fit. As such, mentorship and training will be provided as needed.

The position includes a fully stocked work vehicle with dedicated ProStride and Alpha2EQ systems, Equinosis system, digital radiology (Next DR) and ultrasound, a company computer and smartphone.  As a practice we share shockwave, dental equipment, and video gastroscopy and upper airway endoscopy. AVMA and  AAEP membership, PLIT fees, and licensure fees for WI and IL are included. Additional benefits include a simple IRA and health savings account, 3 weeks of paid time off annually and a generous continuing education stipend. Scheduling is flexible with limited on-call duties. Salary will be commensurate with experience. For more about us, please see our website at www.forwardequinevet.com
