The pre-purchase exam is a combined physical exam, ophthalmic exam, brief oral exam, neurologic exam, and static and dynamic musculoskeletal exam, or a lameness exam. Throughout the process, we are evaluating how well the horse will meet your needs and what to expect from the horse in question. We will keep you apprised of everything we find as we complete each portion and will generate a thorough written report for the buyer within 48 hours. Reports are available with faster turn-around time so long as we are notified of this at the time the appointment is scheduled. We know that purchase agreements can sometimes happen quickly and we will do our best to accommodate your scheduling needs.
Our main goal is to ensure that you know what you are getting and are making the most informed decision possible. Based on the examination findings, we make our best recommendations as to how well the horse in question is likely to meet your needs and accomplish your riding goals going forwards.
